Dear Editor:
It is my understanding that the Globe newspaper is rumored to go out of business by February of next year. I would like to express my concern since I am currently a reporter for this student-led business. Though I have not been with them for very long, I have discovered numerous strengths as a result of writing various articles over such a short period of time. I may very well assume it is my passion to prove myself as a writer in order that I may get the opportunity to move up according to my skills as a writer. It is my desire to earn a Journalism degree so that I may become a sportswriter for a NBA team.
Having said this, I would like to encourage you, among others, to do everything in your power to keep this business flowing. I enjoy writing immensely, and nothing would please me more than to hear of the Globe newspaper’s success. I am involved with a great collection of students on its staff and have found it easy and worthwhile to work with them. If I could impose just a simple question, ‘Could we work together in such a way that we may keep the newspaper running?’ I would be happy to hear of future opportunities being opened to future students pursuing a career in Journalism, or simply a chance to write for something they enjoy while receiving recognition.
Sincerely,
Timothy J. Janssen
